Precious Moments

A few new talents to mention: Aly said "Bye-bye, Da-da" this morning when Donny was going off to work! She also says "pat, pat, pat" with the Little Einsteins, which I also discovered this morning. Now she will give kisses when you say "kiss" or even "I love you". (Daddy loves this one.) She's getting really good at army crawling and can get around really fast, but she still won't get up on her knees every time.

"Peek-a-boo" went from "doo" to an actual "boo" this week, just in time for Halloween! She loves putting anything she can find over her face until we say "Where's Aly?" about ten times and then she pulls it away and says, "Boo!" with a very high-pitched squeal. We can keep her entertained for an hour.

Unfortunately, we had to cancel a special trip to Eureka Springs with Uncle Jeremy, Aunt Kristi, and Cousin Holly this weekend because Aly has her first stomach bug. It's so pitiful, but she's in a great mood when she's not throwing up! We're just going to spend the weekend staying in and getting better. I'm sure there will be several games of Peek-a-boo. We'll try to post a video soon.

Aly Visits the Pumpkin Patch

Aly took her first trip to a real pumpkin patch! We went on a hay ride and then walked around the patch and picked our own fresh pumpkins. Aly loved every minute of it! We were very disappointed to hear that it would not be open next year, so we will have to take a drive from now on to continue our new fall tradition. We created some very sweet memories that day.

Aly's Recent Milestones

So I am really embarrassed that my last blog entry was in August, but Aly and I are very busy gals these days. The blog has not been a priority, but I hope to do much better. (Don't I say that every time?)

Aly now says "Mama", "Daddy", "Bye-Bye", "Hi", and "Bah-Bah" (for bottle). She has also said her first sentence "Bye-bye, Mama" two different times while waving bye-bye. We even caught it on video last night. We now have proof! Donny is in the process of helping me post the video so keep looking for it.

She can also point to our noses and mouths, clap her hands, sing, dance and pull up (but only when she really, really wants something and there's not far to go). I know what you are thinking and the answer is no, she still doesn't crawl. She's just simply not interested. She gets everywhere she wants to go by scooting, stretching, and rolling, so why should she have to get up on her knees? Way too much work for a prissy little girl.

She now has three teeth with five more on the way. I caught her grinding them this morning, which I am going to have to stop somehow before she ruins them. (Let me know if you have any advice.) She also has much more hair and a precious little personality. It finally really feels like there are three of us, not just the two of us and a baby. We are truly enjoying every second of parenthood.

Aly loves her new Build-A-Bear Friend from Maw-Maw and Grandpa.

Aly eats real bananas like a big girl.
